Another field trip

The chickens took another field trip outside this week and they really enjoyed it.  Madison also enjoyed getting a good look at the chickens.  I guess she realized they're getting too big for her to mess with now, because she moved on to a sunny spot pretty quickly and ignored the chickens the rest of the time.

Here's the flock, getting some sun on their feathers and grass in between their toes:

Oneita loves to roost, so she stayed up on this fig branch a lot of the time:

Viola is great at striking a pose:

And Helen continues to look like a rooster with her big comb, but we haven't given up hope:

I got a great picture of Viola and Bernice, our two Amber Links.  They looked identical when we first got them, but they are quickly becoming individuals.  Viola (left) has maintained some of the yellow from her fuzzy chick days, but she has also developed some Amber-colored spots in her feathers.  Bernice (right) has lost her baby yellow and turned pure white.  Viola is a little friendlier and braver, but I think Bernice is really beautiful.

Hopefully you think this is as funny as I do... fuzzy chicken butts!
